With Demand for PFAS Screening Services Growing, Forever Analytical Expands Lab Capacity and Expertise

SOUTH BEND, Indiana (December 1, 2025) – – As awareness of the serious health risks posed by PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) grows and regulatory pressure limiting its presence in everything from water/wastewater to firefighting gear to baby products mounts, demand for answers is surging. In response, Forever Analytical, an independent test laboratory with locations in the United States and The Netherlands has expanded its screening capacity and brought on additional expertise.

On November 14th, Forever Analytical completed its move to a new location in South Bend, Indiana, that doubled the company’s available space for processing, screening, and analyzing virtually any liquid or solid material or product suspected of containing PFAS.

Additionally, the company brought on Lara Galy as a full-time lab technician to support the growing volume of PFAS screening services. She is tasked with sample processing and elevating operational efficiency across the lab. Galy originally served as an intern for Forever Analytical while earned a degree in Engineering Management from Bethel University. Her focus, dedication, and multilingual skill sets contributed to her hiring.

Forever Analytical CEO Hunter MacMillan says more space and additional expertise are necessary to get in front of demand for PFAS screening services, and more specifically, demand for his company’s industry-first capabilities.

“I’m extremely pleased Lara has joined our team and our larger lab as we’re receiving tremendous interest from fire departments and consumer products companies about PFAS. One big driver is that Forever Analytical is unique in the PFAS screening space as we’re the only independent test lab using proton accelerator technology and as such are capable of screening for total PFAS in virtually any liquid or solid product or material. Most of our competitors use chemical processes and are limited to what they can test and ultimately detect,” MacMillan says.

“There are literally millions of PFAS and we’re able to  quickly and affordably determine the presence of total PFAS so clients can make informed decisions about whether to use a specific product or material or if advanced testing is needed,” he says.

Forever Analytical is also developing field-deployable systems for real-time PFAS screening and monitoring at water and wastewater treatment plants, environmental remediation sites, and other locations where PFAS is suspected to be present. The company has received funding to accelerate commercialization from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), U.S. Department of Defense, DARPA,  Eurostars (European Union), HG Ventures, Elevate Ventures, and the Pit Road Fund.
