When the 20,000-plus attendees from across the globe descend on Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center for WEFTEC in late September, chances are that PFAS – aka Forever Chemicals – will be a significant topic of conversation. That’s because a growing number of European countries and American states have passed regulations limiting this harmful class of chemicals in drinking water and wastewater. Effective solutions for screening PFAS and eliminating it are few and far between.
There’s no better place to discuss the PFAS issue than the WEFTEC Technical Exhibition & Conference hosted by the Water Environment Federation. As the largest and most influential event of its kind in North America, WEFTEC brings together engineering firms, municipal leaders, utility operators, CEOs, environmental consultants, and technology providers to collaborate on water infrastructure, treatment innovations, and sustainability solutions.

is more than just a conference—it’s an immersive experience that empowers attendees to positively impact the future of water quality and environmental sustainability.
Joining the event are Forever Analytical CEO and Co-Founder Hunter MacMillan and CTO and Co-Founder Cor Datema. Hunter leads North American operations while Cor directs the company’s European operations. They are attending WEFTEC to introduce Forever Analytical’s proton accelerator-powered technology that is an industry first and best-in-class for the global detection of PFAS in water, wastewater and biosolids as well as virtually every other liquid or solid product or material.
Forever Analytical currently offers independent lab services to the water and wastewater processing industries, screening for thousands of PFAS and reaching results in three minutes or less. The company’s analysis services are field tested and proven in municipal and commercial applications and are designed to inform water districts, municipalities, processors, and industrial treatment operators so they, in turn, can meet mandated limits and make informed decisions.
Additionally, Forever Analytical is close to commercializing field deployable systems for onsite screening and monitoring at water and wastewater treatment plants as well as other locations that require high-volume testing and near realtime results.
“We are very excited to meet colleagues from across the water and wastewater industries at WEFTEC,” says MacMillan. “There’s a great deal of uncertainty around how best to address and mitigate PFAS. We want to introduce the path forward offered by Forever Analytical.”
Hunter and Cor will be at WEFTEC Monday, September 27. If you would like to schedule a meet-up, connect with us at Info@ForeverAnalytical.com.
